You could start a new topic for discussing silverchair if you like. I'm sure there'd be a few people who want to.

I've to say old cos it's so much heavier and stuff, cos I'm really into heavy and angsty sounds. BTW, my favorite albums: Freak Show and Neon Ballroom!

They are awesome! It doesn't matter if it's old or new Silverchair... they're great! And I really don't know which album is my favourite cuz every day I have got another one... it depens in what mood I am... when I'm sad I usually listen to Diorama (then it makes me better) or Neon Ballroom (then I more get depressed) but remaining albums also are pretty good ;]

I definitely like the older stuff better. Neon Ballroom was good but if you ask me it doesnt get any better than Freakshow. I only like about 3 songs on the Diorama album

all of it is amazing, freakshow and frogstomp are very motivating to me and neon ballroom and diorama are very well made, epics. it totaly depends on what mood i am in, tht desides what i want to listen to normaly i jus put there collections of albums on play and listen to them all.
getin bak to it, they have all turned into amazing musicians now but i think i prefer the older daniel johns (1995-2001) but only because paul macs wasnt that much in the seen as now, i dont like him to much, he got daniel into smoking weed and made the music a bit different eg the dissociatives.

i prefer the new stuff. i grew up with them; i liked them alot when i was younger, but as i got older i became disenchanted; i still love the music, but it was clear (to me, anyway) that daniel johns was mimicking his idols, such as cobain, staley, etc. his was a troubled youth, and his lyrics reflected that. of course, he was only a kid and i don't hold it against him, but i have trouble listening to lyrics that are immature nowadays. anyway, once i discovered diorama and then neon ballroom, i became enthralled once again. i still listen to the old stuff once in a while, but the newer stuff is the reason i love them so much.

in my opinion the frogstomp and freak show are fucking awesome albums... there's nothing that could be better...grunge is just my style and these 2 albums touched me hard... what silverchair did then was... it was just confusing... neon ballroom... in my opinion it sucked a bit... unless ana's song and spawn again ... these are good... but hte rest... diorama ... i like the imagination of their development they can play hard and rock like a metal band .... and then next song could be a piano ballad .... they're all-rounders ... also with young modern now ... that's from the musical point of view it'S amazing... but i think after freak show they just became fucking boring... not my style ... so i dont like it..s

My opinion. I seem to like Silverchair back then to what it is now.. Silverchair songs where cool abit like NIRVANA but differently yet same group style and Daneil with the blonde long hair.. After 4 years later only just 4 years as of today silverchair Daneil john has change from young looking with blonde long hair slim built to something like muscle mass with shaved head and beared on the face in 2007. I kinder dont like the looks style now.... Im suprise the band dude still kepts his hair long and makes him look youngish looking.... Sounds like daneil john has kinder change from one point to something incredibley old looking within a period of short time... Hes only 27 but he would look good with long hair and style....
Im still strugling to think if Silver chair is a ROCK band or a pop/rock band now... it kinder has its mixs ups ups and downs... abit comfusing to weither he wants to be a pop or a rock or a heavy rock team.
Look at how cool he did look with the song call FREAK and only just a period of tiny short years he turns out to look like if his almost late 30's because his beared face and shaved head just dosnt look atractive at all.
Oh tho i like the new songs... but the one of STR8 LINES kinder seems good in a way and bad in a diferent way too... Hmmm this song seems like it was a term of him been hurt.. the song is mouth out loud.... Oh tho i dont like the other new recent dude with his piano.. he is a worse ugly look in my opinion. But im not raciest to it.
I did like Nirvana AND so silverchair reminds me alike of Nirvana.
i will fine out the new songs he would make later on.... i think the new song he also makes call YOUNG MODERN seems kinder borring... and recently they seem boring now.. but back in the late 90's and 2000 to 2002 was all good.. until 2003-2007 everything became boring to a point of death.
