Ummm... I was watching launch and 'the greatest view' popped up. I heard a few of their songs on the radio a few years back too but I never really started listening to them until I saw that thing on launch. Now I listen non-stop

My Mum got Diorama for Christmas the year it came out, so I listened to it and I loved it, then I kindof got out of it a bit, then back into it, then discovered silverchair :-) But to answer the question, I first heard of silverchair when Triple M had a competition to have them play in your backyard.. That competition got cancelled as of Daniel's Arthritus.

Um, I was watching TV and they played Cemetery (97), and as I remember I didn't exactly love it but I thought Daniel was really cute (I was 13). Sadly I forgot about them cos at the time I was into Hanson, and it was in early 99, I saw them again and I remember that I loved Anthem For The Year 2000, Ana's Song and Miss You Love. But again I forgot about them and it was in 2002, I saw The Greatest View, but again I forgot about them (I don't know how I did it?) And it was first in the late summer of 2004, that I remembered them again. I downloaded some songs and I absolutely loved it, so I had to buy all the albums inclusive the DVD. And I've loved them ever since, (this time I will not forget them). LOL

That is how I normally find some really good undiscovered talent. Sometimes it back fires and I end up with some bad tunes.. but other times it is golden. =) Case and point this one.

well, it was in 2005 and I was fan of Good Charlotte. My favourite member of this group (Billy Martin) is Silverchair's fan... I'm snooper so I really wanted to find out what kind of music it is. So I asked my brother to download me their the most popular song, but of course I didn't know the title... My brother dowloaded me Ana's Song and when I heard it for the first time I really enjoyed it. It was quite late, but I couldn't fall asleep... I had to listen to this song. That night I downloaded all their albums and now I'm thier fan... and I forgot about Good Charlotte, now my number one is only Silverchair ;] This is my story, lol ;]

I first heard Silverchair during the credits of a Daria episode in 1997. It was Freak and I instantly loved it. I put on a Daria soundtrack and that was all I knew of them until this year. I decided to see if there was more to this band so I bought the first three albums. After hearing them all once I wasn't to thrilled. A few months I gave them all a second go and was very impressed. Neon Ballroom in particular was great. I love dark, sad, depressing music. I decided to get Diorama after hearing Greatest View. I couldn't believe it was the same band. The songs were so lush and beautiful. Never has a band so drastically evolved into something different and still be as good if not better. I love the darkness of the early albums but Daniels new found happiness has touched me in a profound way. I'm so happy I decided to see if there more to that Freak band. Silverchair, you amaze me.
