What is the book the interviewer is trying to give them at the end? They seem really freaked out and offended?

I guess I am confused here? Anyone knows?

the book is to be some kind of cooking - book they tried to give him ... and at that time he had his eating disorder...
so it's more than understandable that they were angry....
